About Us
Múltíkúltí Language Centre has been teaching Icelandic and other languages since 2009. Located near downtown Reykjavík, we offer flexible in-person and online courses for diverse learners.

Our Story
Founded in 2009, Múltíkúltí Language Centre began with a simple vision: to make learning languages, especially Icelandic, a gateway to understanding and belonging. We believe that language is more than just words—it’s the heart of culture, the key to opportunity, and a bridge between people.
Over the years, we’ve cultivated a welcoming space in Reykjavík where learners from all walks of life come together to master new languages. Our passion for teaching extends beyond the classroom, driven by a deep commitment to making Icelandic accessible to everyone. Whether you’re a newcomer eager to navigate daily life in Iceland, an exchange student chasing academic dreams, or a curious traveler, we tailor our teaching to meet your needs.
Our experienced instructors bring a wealth of knowledge and cultural insight, teaching in Icelandic, English, Ukrainian, Polish, Spanish, Croatian, Serbian, and Russian. Classes are offered from early morning to late evening, ensuring flexibility for busy schedules.
Quality Policy
Underpinning everything we do is our Quality Policy, a cornerstone of our commitment to excellence. Through regular meetings with staff and teachers, we refine our methods, update our curriculum, and embrace feedback from students. This dynamic process keeps us aligned with our mission: to create a language-learning experience that is effective, inspiring, and deeply connected to Icelandic life and culture.
At Múltíkúltí, we’re more than a language school—we’re a community. Together, we celebrate the power of words to transform lives and bring people closer.

What Students Say

I went to Multikulti for two courses, level 3 and 4, and I was very happy with my choice. I went to different Icelandic schools before, but I really liked that at Multikulti the emphasis was on vocabulary, grammar, and knowledge about Iceland. Also, you dive really deep into the matter, which allowed me to learn a lot.

Great language school!! I took Icelandic classes from level 1-5. I have leaned a lot thanks to Múltíkúltí. From not being able to speak a word of Icelandic I can now have conversations and understand written texts on various topics. The atmosphere is class was always really pleasant, and I made friends whom I stay in touch with long after the course is over. From my teachers I have leaned a lot about Icelandic culture, history and politics. To me Múltíkúltí has been more than a language school – it has been an essential part of my life in Iceland.

I owe a lot to Múltikúlti. I took courses 2 – 5, and it was one of the best things I could have done being new to Iceland. It prepared me for situations where I had to use Icelandic and improved my confidence when speaking with native speakers! The teachers are great, want you to do great, do what they can to help you grow, and always made it a safe learning space. The course material was AMAZING, and until now, I refer to it regularly. Classes were really enjoyable during the pandemic – both online and in-person, and I also met some cool people, who I still talk to even after finishing classes!!
